About our school
Montgomery Preparatory Academy is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in Kindergarten through 8th grade in Dayton, Ohio. Principal Kenya Lemami leads a school that earned 3 stars for Progress on its most recent Ohio report card and delivered a 10% performance increase year over year. Those aren't abstract numbers. They mean students at this school are growing faster than the state expects.
The academic program is standards-based and supported by individualized instruction. Students receive targeted interventions through a structured framework that addresses gaps before they widen.
Counseling and behavioral health services are available on-site.
Every enrolled student receives free breakfast and lunch.

Community School
Montgomery Preparatory Academy is a public, community school. We are our own school district sponsored by the Ohio Council of Community Schools (OCCS) which provides oversight and enforces academic, fiscal, and legal accountability. We are managed by ACCEL Schools, a high performing network of over 50 charter schools located throughout the United States. Community Schools (Charter Schools) offer families an alternative to the local public school.
