Meet our team
Meet the leaders and staff who support students and families at Montgomery Preparatory Academy.
Mrs. Jamie Brady, Superintendent

Kenya Lemami, Principal

Mrs. Lemami earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Delaware State University, a Master’s Degree in Childhood Education and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from the State University of New York at Brockport, and a Graduate Certificate in PreK–12 Reading Instruction from the University of Cincinnati. Her diverse educational background has equipped her with expertise in curriculum, literacy, instructional leadership, and school improvement.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Lemami has served in a variety of impactful leadership and instructional roles. She spent 12 years teaching fifth and sixth grade in the Rochester City School District before relocating to Ohio, where she became the founding School Director for United Schools Network. She has also served as a teacher with Performance Academies, Principal at Educational Solutions, Middle School Leader for KIPP Columbus, and most recently as Middle and High School Principal at Patriot Preparatory Academy.
Inspired by her Aunt Catherine, a dedicated third-grade teacher, and her own third-grade teacher, Mr. Davis, Mrs. Lemami developed a passion for education rooted in the belief that students thrive when they are both nurtured and challenged. She believes that building strong relationships, recognizing each child’s unique potential, and making every student feel seen and heard are essential to lasting success.
As Principal of Montgomery Preparatory Academy, Mrs. Lemami’s vision is to cultivate a safe, joyful, and data-driven learning environment where academic excellence and character development go hand in hand. She is committed to strengthening the school’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, using student data to guide instructional decisions, and fostering a culture where students, staff, and families work together to achieve outstanding results. Her goal is to continue growing Montgomery Preparatory Academy into a school of choice for families throughout the community.
Mrs. Lemami believes a positive school culture begins with simple but meaningful interactions. Greeting students by name each morning, celebrating academic achievement, positive behavior, and personal growth, and recognizing the hard work of teachers all contribute to creating a welcoming environment where everyone can succeed.
Outside of school, Mrs. Lemami enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and two dogs. She is an avid fan of Chicago P.D. and loves traveling whenever she has the opportunity. One of the most unique experiences in her life was serving as a 4-H exchange student in Japan at age 14. Her passion for languages led her to study Japanese in high school and Portuguese through Penn State University, experiences that broadened her perspective and continue to influence her appreciation for diverse cultures.
